I fished Flamingo on Saturday with my good buddy manyfish from Islamorada. The fishing was hot. We fished out front and around the cape and managed 2-3 on permit lost a big one to an obstruction, lost a huge cobia, nailed the big gator trout to 24"(probably caught 20), caught 30 snook with most in the slot and we just laughed as we released 28-30"ers for a good hour. The fishing was as good in the park as it gets for us. Oh-yeah Manny caught a 40 pound tarpon before we left the keys…

I had big plans and a high level of excitement prior to heading offshore Sunday morning. After having blown an engine early this summer, and dealing with a criminal of a mechanic, then finally finding a good mechanic, I had my boat back in full working order! It was me, George 84, and another good buddy Josh. The plan was to high speed south at first light for some wahoo, troll our way offshore to daytime for swordies and maybe even set up on the edge on the way in to see what was around. Fortunately the canal where I keep my boat was full of mullet so I had a livewell full of bait and that saved us some time Sunday morning…
