On May 16, the Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management and partners will host the Lake Worth Lagoon Symposium. According to PB ERM, the event will provide information on research and restoration projects in the Lake Worth Lagoon and its watershed as well as address the perspective of business and recreational interests that depend on the lagoon.
The agenda includes keynote speaker Dr. Duane DeFreese who will address the future of an urban estuary, the state of the lagoon, and the viability of seagrasses and seagrass restoration in the estuary. Tom Twyford, Executive Director of the West Palm Beach Fishing Club, will be on hand to discuss the recreational fishing perspective of habitat enhancement on the Lake Worth Lagoon.
