More than 250 people participated Sunday in a benefit event for 8-year-old Tanner Hrobak. Young Tanner is battling a brain tumor, and has undergone chemotherapy and radiation treatments since April. The event involved a fishing tournament, a pig roast and a silent auction.

Organizers say the fundraising goal was $2000, but the event may have exceeded expectations tenfold. Silent auction items including fishing gear, charter trips and angling adventures in Costa Rica and the Bahamas proved big-ticket items.
