High Hopes on the Humps - Online Bonus
GPS numbers for the other Humps in the Keys, as well as some popular deep wrecks (greater than 200 feet) and artificial reefs.
In the February 2006 issue of FS, now on newsstands, Florida Keys writer/fishing captain Randy Rode explains the dynamics of fishing those deepwater humps in the Straits of Florida. Rode is most intimate with the Marathon Hump, where he began fishing decades ago. Dropping baits in 400 feet of water is a specialized affair, as is trolling for tunas and other pelagics. Read the magazine to learn about some of the techniques used.
